Zoo Field Trip Print

Our March field trip to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is scheduled for Thursday, March 18th.  Students must be present on campus by 8:30 for roll call and be dressed in their NBCA Athletics tees in order to attend the trip and be counted present for the day.  Everyone should bring a sack lunch and comfortable walking shoes.  More information, including ticket prices and important behavior guidelines can be found by clicking the link below.

Field trip cost is $9 for adults, $5.50 for children 3-12, and two and under are admitted free of charge with a paid parent.  Those who have previously paid for the Native Lands field trip and would like to apply that balance to the Zoo trip charge, please contact Mrs. Filion in our main office at your earliest convenience.

Parents are permitted to walk with their student's class, and may take their own children through the zoo separately if they so choose.  Please be sure to inform your group's registered NBCA chaperon if you elect to leave your group or leave the zoo grounds.

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens has asked that we adhere to the following guidelines while visiting, please review them with your student before attending:

Field Trip Policies

Teachers, chaperones and students are expected to follow these guidelines while visiting the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

  • One adult chaperon is required to accompany every 10 students at all times regardless of student’s age.  Chaperons must stay with the students (all ages) and are responsible for the behavior of the students under their supervision at all times.
  • Students must wear nametags that identify each by first name and school regardless of age.
  • Please observe our “NO FEEDING” policy.  Zoo animals are on special diets and outside food can be harmful.  Feeding is allowed in selected animal areas. Only feed the food available for purchase in these areas.
  • For your safety, we ask that you observe all signs and gates.  Please stay on the public walkways and do not climb on or over fences.
  • The Zoo is proud to be a smoke free and tobacco free facility.  The use of tobacco products is prohibited in the parking lot and on Zoo grounds.
  • Food may not be brought into the zoo.  A picnic area is provided at the south end of the parking lot.
Thank you for your support of NBCA.  We look forward to a fun day at the Zoo with you!
